

Position Overview:
Are you passionate about advocacy, community engagement, and building meaningful partnerships? Step’s Foundation, Inc. is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator Intern for a hybrid role that combines both virtual tasks and in-person community engagement.
As an Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator Intern, you will help strengthen relationships with existing community partners, identify and cultivate new partnerships, and support advocacy initiatives that align with our mission of empowering youth and families. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in community outreach, partnership development, and nonprofit advocacy while making a measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, local stakeholders, and potential partners that align with Step’s Foundation’s mission.

Advocacy Campaigns: Collaborate with the team to plan, organize, and implement advocacy projects and public awareness campaigns that support youth mental health and well-being.

Event Coordination: Help coordinate and support outreach events, including community meetings, workshops, and educational forums.

Partner Stewardship: Attend in-person meetings with community partners as needed to foster collaboration and strengthen engagement.

Resource Development: Assist in creating informational materials, toolkits, and outreach resources to support community education and advocacy efforts.

Data Collection and Reporting: Track outreach activities and partner engagements, compile data, and help produce reports that measure the impact of our outreach and advocacy initiatives.

Communications Support: Contribute content for newsletters, social media, and advocacy campaigns to promote program goals and community partnerships.
Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a degree program in social work, communications, public relations, political science, nonprofit management, or a related field.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Interest in advocacy, nonprofit outreach, and community engagement.

Comfortable attending community meetings and representing Step’s Foundation, Inc. at public events and partner locations as needed.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Proficiency with digital tools and social media platforms.

Enthusiasm for working with diverse populations and promoting inclusion.
