Youth Peer Educator Internship

Position Overview: 

As a Youth Peer Educator Intern, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of adolescents in our community. You will lead dynamic workshops, create engaging program curriculums, and facilitate interactive support groups that promote mental health awareness, coping skills, and personal growth. By sharing your expertise and fostering an inclusive environment, you will inspire and empower teens to become resilient, confident, and proactive members of society.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver innovative program curriculums addressing topics such as self-care, mental health, communication skills, and goal setting.

  • Lead interactive workshops that encourage active participation, critical thinking, and meaningful discussions among students.

  • Organize and facilitate support groups that provide a safe space for teens to share their experiences, challenges, and successes.

  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community organizations to enhance the impact of our programs.

  • Stay up-to-date with current research, statistics, and best practices related to youth development, mental health, and education.

  • Provide one-on-one mentoring and guidance to students in need of additional support.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness through data collection and analysis, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications:

  • Passion for working with middle and high school students, with a deep understanding of their unique challenges and needs.

  • Experience in creating and delivering educational content in an engaging and interactive manner.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.

  • Knowledge of mental health principles, self-care practices, and life skills development.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, and community members.

  • Empathetic and nonjudgmental approach, fostering an environment of trust and inclusivity.

  • Relevant certifications or education in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is a plus.
