

Position Overview:
Are you passionate about empowering youth and making a meaningful impact in your community? Step's Foundation, Inc. is seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals for our Peer Educator Internship, a hybrid role that combines both on-site work at our partnered school in Kissimmee and community-based outreach where our programs are offered.
As a Peer Educator Intern, you will play a critical role in educating, mentoring, and empowering youth and families. While mental health awareness remains a key focus, our programs also emphasize health and wellness, career development, financial literacy, independent living skills, and soft skills development.
In this role, you will facilitate workshops, lead discussions, mentor students, and support the planning and coordination of programs. You will work alongside our program staff, advocacy team, and fellow interns to deliver impactful programming and create meaningful engagement opportunities for youth.
Key Responsibilities:

Program Facilitation: Help deliver workshops, support groups, and educational sessions covering mental health, health and wellness, career readiness, financial literacy, life skills, and personal development.

Student Engagement & Mentorship: Build positive relationships with students, providing peer support and mentorship while fostering a safe and inclusive environment.

Program Coordination: Assist with planning, scheduling, and organizing program sessions, activities, and events to ensure effective delivery.

Community Outreach: Participate in community events, outreach activities, and program implementation at various locations where Step’s Foundation, Inc. operates.

Advocacy and Awareness: Support initiatives that promote awareness of available resources and encourage youth and families to engage in programs and services.

Content and Curriculum Support: Contribute to the development and enhancement of educational materials, program curriculum, and outreach tools.

Tracking and Reporting: Help document participation, engagement levels, and feedback from program activities to support continuous improvement and reporting.
Qualifications:

Genuine passion for youth empowerment, education, and community impact

Interest in areas such as mental health, wellness, career development, financial literacy, or life skills education

Comfortable speaking in group settings and engaging peers in discussions

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills with the ability to support program coordination and logistics

Willingness to work both at the school site in Kissimmee and at community locations for outreach and program delivery

Reliable, adaptable, and committed to maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment

Interest or coursework in psychology, social work, education, public health, or a related field is preferred
