

Position Overview:
Are you passionate about mental health awareness and eager to make a difference among teens and in the community? Step's Foundation, Inc. is seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals for our Peer Educator Internship, a hybrid role that combines both on-site work at our partnered school in Kissimmee and community-based outreach where our programs are offered.
As a Peer Educator Intern, you will play a critical role in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, while educating and empowering youth and families. You will work alongside our program staff, advocacy team, and other interns to facilitate workshops, lead discussions, and engage the community in meaningful conversations about mental health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:

Program Facilitation: Help deliver peer-led workshops, support groups, and educational sessions focused on mental health awareness, stigma reduction, and coping strategies for teens.

Student Engagement: Build positive relationships with students at our partner school, fostering open dialogue around mental health topics and providing peer-to-peer support.

Community Outreach: Participate in community events, outreach activities, and program delivery at various locations where Step’s Foundation, Inc. operates.

Advocacy and Awareness: Assist in creating and promoting campaigns that raise awareness about mental health issues and available resources for youth and families.

Content Development: Contribute to the development of educational materials, social media content, and outreach tools that align with mental health education goals.

Tracking and Reporting: Help document participation, engagement levels, and feedback from program activities to support continuous improvement and reporting needs.
Qualifications:

Genuine passion for mental health advocacy and youth empowerment.

Comfortable speaking in group settings and engaging peers in discussions about mental health and wellness.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Willingness to work both at the school site in Kissimmee and at community locations for outreach and program delivery.

Reliable, organized, and committed to maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment.

Interest or coursework in psychology, social work, education, public health, or a related field is preferred.
