Program Coordinator Internship

Position Overview:

Are you passionate about working with teens and eager to help empower the next generation through education, outreach, and advocacy? Step's Foundation, Inc. is seeking a motivated and compassionate Program Coordinator Intern for a dynamic hybrid role. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience both on-site at our partnered school in Kissimmee and within the broader community.

As a Program Coordinator Intern, you will assist in delivering educational content, coordinating support groups, participating in outreach activities, and recruiting students for our programs. Additionally, you will help track program deliverables and submit timely reports to ensure accountability and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for individuals interested in youth development, community outreach, and mental health education.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Delivery: Support the facilitation of program curriculum focused on life skills, mental health awareness, and self-care techniques for middle and high school students.

  • Student Engagement: Engage directly with students at our partner school and in the community, fostering positive relationships and facilitating interactive discussions.

  • Outreach and Recruitment: Assist with outreach efforts to recruit students for programs by attending community events, distributing materials, and collaborating with school staff.

  • Curriculum Support: Collaborate with the program team to develop, refine, and implement educational materials and activities tailored to the needs of teens.

  • Logistics and Coordination: Help coordinate program schedules, prepare session materials, and communicate with students and families regarding participation.

  • Tracking Deliverables: Monitor program activities against goals, ensuring deliverables are met and documented.

  • Reporting: Assist in compiling and submitting program reports that summarize participation, engagement outcomes, and other key performance indicators.

  • Monitoring Trends: Stay informed on best practices and research related to youth development, mental health, and education to continuously enhance program delivery.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong passion for working with teenagers and advocating for their holistic well-being.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for connecting with diverse student groups.

  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Ability to track program activities and meet reporting deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel locally between the school site in Kissimmee and community outreach locations.

  • Adaptable, collaborative, and open to feedback in a team-oriented environment.

  • Interest or coursework in education, social work, psychology, public health, or related fields is preferred.
