Okay, let’s be real—interviews can feel like the ultimate boss battle in a video game. Your hands get sweaty, your brain turns into mashed potatoes, and suddenly, even your name feels like a hard question. But don’t worry! I got you! Here’s how to tackle those nerves and show up like the baddie you are.
1. Hype Yourself Up Before the Interview
Before I step into an interview, I always give myself a little pep talk. Something like:
“I’m a baddie, and I’m worthy of this job.”
“If I don’t get it, that just means it wasn’t my time—NOT that I’m not good enough.”
“Every experience is a step toward my growth, no matter what happens.”
Try saying these out loud in the mirror. It might feel goofy at first, but trust me, words have power!
2. Turn Nervous Energy Into Excitement
Did you know that nervousness and excitement feel the same in your body? Your heart races, your palms sweat—it’s just about how you frame it. So instead of thinking, “Omg, I’m so nervous ”, switch it to “Omg, I’m so excited for this opportunity! ”
Example: Imagine you’re about to get on a rollercoaster . You feel that rush, right? You don’t run away—you lean into it! Treat the interview the same way.

3. Practice Like It’s a Game
The more you practice, the less scary it feels. Try:
Mock interviews with a friend or family member
Recording yourself answering common questions
Practicing in front of a mirror (yes, you’ll feel silly, but it works!)
Think of it like leveling up in a video game—you get better every time!
4. Breathe & Slow Down
If you feel your brain going blank, take a breath. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4. Simple, but it calms your nerves fast.
Example: If they ask, “Tell me about yourself,” and your mind goes ???!??, take a deep breath and start with one thing—your name! The rest will come.

5. Keep It Real—You Got This!
At the end of the day, the right job will find you at the right time. Not getting a job doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough—it just means that role wasn’t meant for you yet. Keep growing, keep applying, and keep believing in yourself!
Remember: You’re a baddie, you’re worthy, and no rejection can take that away from you.
