Being kind to others is something we hear about all the time, but what about being kind to yourself? As a teen, you’re juggling school, friendships, family, and figuring out your future—it’s a lot. Sometimes, you may be your own biggest critic. Learning self-kindness can help you stay balanced, confident, and healthier overall.

1. Builds Self-Confidence
When you encourage yourself the way you would a friend, you start to believe in your abilities more. Positive self-talk like “I’m doing my best” or “I can improve with practice” can boost your confidence over time.

2. Helps Manage Stress
Life can be overwhelming, and mistakes are part of growing up. Instead of beating yourself up, kindness helps you stay calm and focused. It reminds you that it’s okay to take breaks, ask for help, and try again tomorrow.
