Youth Program Ambassador
What are we looking for?

Passion for Making a Difference: A genuine interest in empowering peers and supporting their personal and professional growth. Demonstrated experience in working with youth or involvement in youth-oriented programs is preferred.

Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences effectively. Active listening skills and the ability to empathize with others are crucial.

Leadership and Mentoring Abilities: Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

Organization and Time Management: Effective organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.

Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and handle unexpected situations. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Commitment to the Organization's Mission: Alignment with the organization's mission, values, and objectives, and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of young individuals.
Criteria to Apply:

Youth Program Ambassador Program will comprise of 10 students in 9th – 12th Grade residing in the Central Florida Area (Osceola, Orange, Seminole, Polk, and Lake)

​We encourage students to apply the summer after their 8th grade year

Students should aspire to assist Steps Foundation, Inc in its growth and desire to “pledge to make a difference” as a mentor and leader.

Students must enjoy community initiatives and making a difference in the areas in which they live.

Students should be eager to represent their peers out in the community at events, in meetings, and conferences.

Students will serve as Program Ambassadors for 1 year but can serve for a total of 2 years.

Students will need to reapply again for year 2.

Applications will be done on Step’s Foundation website

Students will need to submit 1 letter of recommendation from (community leader, school administrator, guidance counselor, teacher, or employer)

Students must write why they wish to become a youth program ambassador

Students and parents will need to sign travel, medical, and photograph authorization forms once approved
-
If more than 10 students apply, the remaining students will still be sent invitations to some of the youth ambassadors functions as “general body members”
Selection Process:

Student applications will be reviewed
-
Students will get calls for interviews to see if they are a good fit to become program ambassador
-
Call to parents will be made to ensure they understand program ambassador requirements for students
-
After interviews are complete students will get a notification stating if they were chosen to be an ambassador.
